As a high school student, Montel collaborated with fellow young filmmakers to create the PSA "Being Big is a Choice" (2010), which clinched an Emmy Award and made multiple reruns on television. This early success highlights his talent for meaningful storytelling. He also won the prestigious Telly Award in 2022 for outstanding cinematography.
Montel is driven by a profound desire to inspire change, and his narratives often tackle pressing urban issues such as gun violence, educational disparities, self-acceptance, and social awareness.
